The PS8431 is a HDMI™ 2.1 12Gbps 2:1 multiplexer featuring jitter cleaning capabilities. It accommodates input Fixed Rate Link (FRL) signals up to 12Gbps over 4 lanes, supporting programmable equalization and jitter cleaning. The device, compliant with HDMI 2.1 specifications, operates in Fixed Rate Link mode with fixed link rates ranging from 3Gbps to 12Gbps. Acting as a 2:1 multiplexer, it allows dynamic port switching through GPIO control or I2C programming. The PS8431 employs a DDC Channel interception scheme to facilitate FRL link training and adjusts parameters based on intercepted data. With jitter cleaning modes for both FRL and TMDS operation, the PS8431 enhances output jitter performance. It also provides programmable receiving equalization to compensate for signal loss, supports Feed Forward Equalizer for source channel compensation, and offers various FFE modes. The device ensures flexible power management through automatic power down and squelch features.
