TC3230 – 2562-Channel eDP Tcon Embedded Display Driver
The TC3230 is a highly integrated eDP Timing Controller (Tcon) embedded driver (TED) IC developed for thin-profile LCD display panels. It supports all panel resolutions up to 2560×1600 using an 18 or 24-bit color format with single chip. Adding a second TC3230 enables panel resolutions up to 3840×2160 with DSC. The Tcon input is eDP 1.5 compliant and supports PSR (Panel Self-Refresh) and PSR2 with selective update. With support for the proprietary video interface protocols offered by major CPU, GPU and SoC vendors, system implementation is straight-forward. The integrated source drivers support up to 2562 output channels with support for MUX2/MUX3/HSD dual gate sub-pixel driving structures.
The TC3230 is designed for Flip Chip on Glass application on both LTPS (Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon) and Oxide type TFT (Thin-Film Transistor) panels. Mounting the highly integrated TC3230 directly onto the LCD panel results in reduced display form factor, BOM cost, and power consumption, all of which benefit portable, battery-powered systems. The TC3230 requires no external crystal or timing reference, includes a programmable gamma buffer, as well as Parade’s exclusive Smart-Backlight™ feature for additional color and power optimization.
